Random: Injuries, Gamper Shirt & Barca's Un-Competition

- Lionel Messi went off to join his national team, Argentina, for their friendly against Russia, but he won't be able to play after all. Leo suffered a contraction in his right abductor muscle during training, and though reports are it's not too serious, Argentine coach Diego Maradona claims he won't risk Messi for a single minute, adding "I'm a wizard... I knew this match shouldn't have been organised!" We're with you, Diego darling.

- Gaby Milito's condition gets better, and medics now say that he could be rejoining the team by October. We'll hang onto that; can't wait to see him back in action!
.
- Samuel Eto'o mentioned to some journalists in his home country of Cameroon, where he currently is due to internationals, that he might someday return to Barcelona. Now Samu, don't you go dropping bombs like that, let's just focus on the present now, hmm?

- For Barca's August nineteenth Gamper Cup match against Man City, which will also mark Ibrahimovic's debut and probably the return of Iniesta, the team will wear this special "MES" shirt, along with red shorts - we think it looks like a kit out of the nineties.

- Anyone catch the Real Madrid - DC United friendly? We're still laughing at the nonexistence of Kaka - Cristiano chemistry and the all-around worthlessness of the new signings, Madrid's inability to get posession without fouling or winning a throw-in, their countless offsides and the pathetic attack. Really, they've only got a bit of decency in Higuan... we don't believe they'll be any threat to Barca this season; our bets are on how soon their new manager will be sacked.
