Barca are set to face Sporting Gijon in their opening match of the Liga, in what will hopefully prove to be a great start to the season. It mightn't be that easy, especially given the absence of Leo Messi, who went straight from Monaco after the Supercup to join up with the Argentine national team in Rosario, in preparation for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Brazil.
Henrique and Gudjhonsen won't be on the squad either, as both have are newly involved in trasnfers away from the club. Yaya Toure might be sidelined since he was suffering from a knock and couldn't train yesterday; while Iniesta and Marquez have yet to return from their injuries.
Congrats in advance to Barca Captain Carles Puyol, as this will mark his 300th Liga match. We hope it's a good one for him!
