After last week's draw against Villareal postponed Barca being named Liga champions, the team now looks to clinch the title in tomorrow's match against Mallorca. However, it may be even easier than that, as Real Madrid face Villareal tonight and should they lose or draw, we are automatic champs befor even going into the match.
And we really hope that's the case. Not only will it give the chance to relax knowing the Liga is secured, but also the team will be able to forget about the rest of the Liga matches, no longer of importance, and concentrate on the coming Champions League final. Substitues and players from the youth team, a number of whom have been training with the first team lately seeing as their league is over, will be given the chance to play for the remainder of the Liga, and starters will be able to rest up and focus on the final in Roma.
Nevertheless, Pep has called up a full squad for this one, adding B-team keeper Oier to replace second keeper Pinto who is suffering from a twisted ankle. FYI, should he play, this will be the 300th league match for Captian Carles Puyol.
In any case, the match should be easy enough for Barca to win. We've thrashed Mallorca before this season, and we're looking to do it again... and we're also hoping that in the three Liga matches that remain of the season, Barca will be able to score at least five goals, thus breaking the record for most goals scored in the Spanish League by a team in one season, ever.
The ‘Gulp’’ factor and why Barça is still just fine
