Match Report: Barcelona 3-1 Sporting Gijon

Eto’o may have scored two goals, but the star of this match was most definitely Dani Alves. He’s always great, but last night he was just brilliant. Darling Dani was all over the place, linking the play, creating the chances, being his usual phenomenal self, only better. Add to that a simply amazing goal, and there’s no denying that he was our man of the match. And could there be anything more adorable than Dani's absolute joy after he scored? The way he ran, shouted, went crazy in celebration? The way he was pumping up the crowds, earning himself an amazing standing ovation when he was subbed off? He’s too awesome to be true, Dani is.

As a whole, team performance was great, with everyone, even Caceras, playing well—although it is a bit annoying that we conceded. We’re giving a Pep a call soon to request that he work on that with the boys; they’ve really been having trouble keeping clean sheets lately.

Eto’o scored double, and both goals were great, but we must stop at the second one, which was pure beauty. Messi’s pass to him was incredible, and Eto’o’s fake-and-finish was marvelous.

Looks-wise, we beg of Messi to get his hair trimmed. The hairstyle he’s sporting this season is just the cutest thing in world, but it’s grown out a bit now and it’s time he did something about that. Because it just looks messy like this. Messy Messi—ha!
