Internationals: Friendlies And A Qualifier

True, Barca had no midweek matches this week, but that didn't mean rest for our gents. A number of them made appearances with their national teams:

- Busquets was kept on the bench for his first call up to the Spanish team, but Pique got to make his debut, and played the entire match. Xavi and Iniesta were also present at the game, and Spain won 2-0 over England, with the Xavster setting up the second goal from a freekick.

- Eto'o positively shone for Cameroon, leading his team to victory as a fault on him gave his team the freekick that led to their first goal, before scoring the second and third goals himself as Cameroon won 3-1 over Guinea. What can we say, he is just unstoppable!

- Gudjhonsen gave a great performance as well, as Iceland won 2-0 over Liechtenstein, with Guddy scoring the second goal.

- Yaya Toure played a full match for his country, Ivory Coast, as they drew 1-1 with Turkey. It's too bad his team didn't win, but the important thing is that Yaya had a good game.

- Martin Caceras represented Uruguay against Libya as his team won 3-2. Martin played for almost the entire game, and his performance was good although he was playing as a left back and not in his ususal position in the center.

- Several of our players faced off as Argentina met France, with Theirry Henry and Eric Abidal both representing France and Lionel Messi playing for Argentina. In the end, the match went to the Argies, with Messi scoring the second goal in his team's 2-0 win. Hats off to an outsanding performance from Leo, and our condolences to Titi and Abi!

- While the aforementioned matches were all friendlies, Mexico had a World Cup Qualifier to play, in which our man Rafael Marquez participated. Rafa captained the team, but it wasn't a good game for him as he was red carded in the second half before Mexico went on to lose 2-0 to the USA. Hopefully Rafa and his team will have better luck next time around!
