Match Report: Barcelona 2-0 Recreativo

Well, you can't always thrash em.

Barca came away from the match against Recreativo with the comfortable score of 2-0. Not flashy, but still comfortable. Given the fact that it was just three days after the last game, we can factor in the element of fatigue. And given that the next game is just three days after, we can factor in the necessity to bench some of the starters. However, at the end of that day it can’t be denied that the boys did slack off, and did not put forth much effort at all.

And yet, the score's at 2-0. And it's a potential 4-0, what with Titi's disallowed goal, Messi's missed penalty, and all the chances lost. That just goes to show, even when we suck, we rock.

We could've rocked more. We could've positively ripped Recreativo to shreds. But the important thing is the three points, so we're not going to lash out at the boys too much. Besides, there were a lot of high points to this game:

- The absolute awesomeness of Andres Iniesta. He scored the most gorgeous of goals, positively Messi-like, and was on fire the entire time.
- Bojan started! And he looked hot! And he played great!
- Caceras was not crappy. Actually, he was quite good. Plus, he took his shirt off at the end of the match. That, in itself, is cause for joy.
-Vic had a great match, goes towards shutting up those who take sick pleasure in criticizing him.
-Sergio actually went a match without getting booked. No other players were carded, either.

Then again, Sergio was pretty much lost throughout the whole ninety minutes. As was Guddy. And—okay, we said we wouldn’t lash out.

Two goals to nothing, it’s acceptable. Sure beats the crappy results we were seeing when the team went through its mid-season crisis a few weeks back. So we’ll settle for this, and shift our focus to the coming Champions League match, shall we?

  2. Probably just a minor injury from training. He's not wearing the bandage anymore in training today, so we wouldn't worry...
