Match Report: Barcelona 1-1 Osasuna

Is this the vision of Pep you would expect to see on what he should have been celebrating as his 500th day coaching Barca? It did turn out to be a memorable night... but not in a good way.

We dropped two points last night when we should have come off with all three. We can't help but be annoyed by this, for several reasons.

Keita's goal was great and he played wonderfully, as he's been all season. But his goal shouldn't have been the only one. The match could have easily been put away with Messi and Ibra both having their share of chances, but they just couldn't seem to find the back of the net.

Ibra had the effort but not the form. Messi didn't have much of either. He's been pretty off ever since he returned to internationals, when will we be seeing him back to his old self? The whole team was kind of dragging their feet through this match, there was none of the hunger we saw against Zaragoza, the fire that we saw so much more of last season. And the question is, why? Why do they keep showing up to play without much of a will to win?

The players simply weren't communicating with one another enoughlast night. Passes went astray, possession was lower than we're is used to having, and the team really didn't have many ideas. Attacks were poorly carried out, potential chances died too quickly. Our attack was suffering... on the right because Messi is not being his magical self, on the left because Iniesta isn't working on the wing, and we are badly in need of Henry, who should have been subbed on. And Ibra, he needs to move better. Against Zaragoza he showed great positioning and movement without the ball, why has he gone back waiting around the penalty area for a pass?

Sometimesit feels like the Zaragoza match was a leftover from last season that somehow found it's way into this one, because it was a one-time, exceptional match where everyone was amazing, and there hasn't been another like it all season. Nor does it look like there's going to be, if the boys keep playing like they did last night.

Keita's goal had us feeling relieved that we would be coming out of the match with three points after all... but then that damned injury-time goal had to happen. What makes it ten times worse is that it was an own goal. From Pique! Pique is such an incredible player, an incredible defender, since when does he make such mistakes?

Okay, we don't want to be too harsh on him, because it was after all an accident, but still, it hurts. We just can't have that. We didn't have a single own-goal last season, and we're not too far into this one yet already they're coming. Hopefully that will be the last... and the team will go back to the winning ways that we all know they have in them.
