The medical team of the Spanish Football Federation have released the unfortunate news that Andres Iniesta’s injury condition has worsened.
He tore the muscle in his right thigh in Barca’s Liga match against Villareal, and remained sidelined after that until he participated in the Champions League final, where he did the most amazing job. But the final must have overburdened him, after it’s been reported that his muscle is torn again, and he’ll be unable to play for six to eight weeks.
He won’t be able to play with Spain in the Confederations Cup, or their coming friendly against Azerbaijan in a few days. It’s too bad for Spain, but this is safer for Andresito; joining his national team would have put him at greater risk. We’re just thankful that this came during the off-season and not before, and Andres can recuperate in peace…
