Apparently, Pep is still hankering for a winger after failed attempts to sign Riera or Mata, and Robinho would be a fitting choice; while Man City owners are really keen on having Henry join their team. The two clubs are supposedly planning out the deal from now, in anticipation of carrying it out come the winter transfer window.
The way we see it, the club won't have it easy getting Titi to leave, but Robinho on the team is an interesting prospect... although things seem to be getting a little ahead of themselves with this one, as rumor goes around that he'll claim the number seven shirt recently vacated by Gudjohnsen. A bit too soon to decide on Robinho's Barca shirt, isn't it?
- Elsewhere, Gerard Pique continues to proclaim his desire for Cesc Fabregas to join Barca. Is it just us, or does Geri always start that up again once he's reunited with Cescy on the Spanish NT? Again, this is a move we would whole-heartedly welcome; and it seems that the likelihood of it happening would depend on how Arsenal will do this season, after hearing Cesc's latest remarks on the matter:
“I know all about the speculation about Barcelona but you have to understand I am a professional and I am an Arsenal player. We have made a good start and we can go on to do good things this season."
"As a youngster I admired Guardiola and Michael Laudrup at Barca. I learnt many things there, but it’s important to be yourself."
"You can never know what will happen in football, and it’s always an honour to be linked with a prestigious club like Barcelona, who I know all about. But let’s see how Arsenal does this season. I am sure we will win something soon."
- Last up, Rio Ferdinand is being linked with a Spain move, either to Barca or Real. Which we don't for a second believe will ever happen.
Don´t like the Henry-Robinho swap because for me Robinho is totally overrated! plus Henry is not that typ of guy to leave BARCA for a club where only money is the reason to play! Titi should stay with us till he quits european top-football!
ReplyDeletehey guys..any legitimacy on these january "shopping list"..i read somewhere that baptista is also on the wishlist for january..i mean i knw that pep is lookin to strengthen in the winter..but will we be signing a star player?
ReplyDeleteI really don't like Robinho, so I hope this is just a pointless rumor.
ReplyDeleteBut I'd love to see Cesc on our team, that would be just so awesome. :D
I don't rate Robinho very highly and don't think he is good enough for Barcelona. For the left wing I would stick with Pedron and Jeffren. Pedro seems really good and Jeffren would be a 3rd choice. I don't think Gai is ready yet. FORZA JUVE!!!
ReplyDeletei like how barca fans are always quick to dismiss talents... there's no doubt robinho is world class, most players from brazil or manchester city are world class :) pedro > robinho? get selias! i obviously prefer playing pedro since he's talented and is our boy and i doubt robinho will be too happy being rotated, but guys, stop being so biased!
ReplyDelete@ mike in africa: Dude, no doubt robinho is world class...but there is this thing called as money and its no use spending millions to bring in robinho which will hinder the growth of youngsters bojan and pedro whom pep started to play on wings. And who knows, pedro might surpass robinho ... who expected xavi and iniesta to become world-class back those days ??
ReplyDelete@Harsha: Dude, did u not read that i DO NOT want robinho in our team. pedro & bojan hav great potential to be world class, no doubt abt that.
ReplyDeletewith xavi and iniesta. think a lot of ppl thought they were gonna b world class tho. remember that converstation pep had with xavi when iniesta joined the first team practice for the first time :D
i thiink pep would be stupid if he ever attempt to buy robinho for anything higher than 15 million.i dont thuink robinho is the right player for us to chase all season,we got real replacement for henry(bojan, pedro and jeffren) very awesome players and kids.
